This summer, DISCover Greater offers two small-group camps designed to help teens build confidence, communication skills, and independence.
Socially Savvy (Rising 7/8)
Confidence, communication, and real-world social skills—practiced, not just talked about.
Designed for rising 7th–8th graders navigating middle school friendships and social dynamics.
This 3-day camp is designed to help middle schoolers better understand themselves and how they show up with others.
Through interactive activities, group challenges, and real-life scenarios, teens will learn:
- how their personality impacts the way they communicate
- how to handle social situations with more confidence and awareness
- how to navigate friendships, group dynamics, and everyday interactions
This year’s theme is Metamorphosis and will focus on the kind of growth that happens beneath the surface.
Because real confidence comes from knowing how to respond .... not just what to say.
This is where middle schoolers start to figure out how to show up and that carries into everything that follows.

Rising Freshman (Rising 9)
A clear plan for starting high school with confidence, structure, and independence.
For rising 9th graders preparing for the transition to high school.
High school brings new expectations—academically, socially, and personally. This 3-day camp helps rising freshmen step into that transition with a plan.
Through guided activities and real-life scenarios, students will learn:
- what teachers expect and how to meet those expectations
- how to set up simple, effective organization systems
- how to manage time, responsibilities, and increasing independence
- how to navigate the social dynamics of a new environment
This isn’t about adding more pressure.
It’s about helping students feel prepared, capable, and ready to take ownership of their next step.
Because starting high school without a plan isn’t confidence, it’s guesswork.

Liz Vola is the co-founder of DISCover Greater and a former middle school teacher who specializes in helping teens understand themselves and build stronger relationships.
Known for her direct, engaging, and practical approach, Liz connects quickly with teens- especially those who don’t always respond to traditional methods.
Her sessions focus on real conversations, real situations, and skills teens can actually use in everyday life.
